Introduction
At Open Door Legal, we see each and every employee as a leader, an integral part of our grand vision to revolutionize access to legal aid and dramatically reduce poverty. As we set our sights on the future of city-wide legal representation, we have continued to reimagine our Annual Plan to foster a culture of teaming and to design our infrastructure for scale. Our ultimate organizational goal is to empower every team member to work with autonomy and self-motivation as we expand our mission and reach. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and transform lives through the power of legal aid. ****
The process for the 2023 annual plan will focus on coordination and alignment in these specific stages:

In 2022, we expanded our eviction defense practice and secured the funding we needed to expand our service area to the Westside and open a center in the Sunset. This year, our priority is building out the infrastructure needed to execute the next step in our city-wide scale plan successfully. This includes systematizing our grants infrastructure, implementing our case management system into peer legal aid organizations, and building a more significant cash reserve to provide a strong runway for a bigger budget.
By the end of the year, we hope to be in a position to execute Prop D’s mandate to make SF the first city in the country with universal access to legal representation for domestic violence survivors and to complete our city-wide expansion.

A vision is a clear, compelling, and inspiring statement of what an organization or individual hopes to achieve in the future. It provides a long-term focus and direction and serves as a guide for decision-making and goal-setting. A good vision should be aspirational and motivate people to work towards it, while also being achievable and realistic.
A vision is not a detailed plan or roadmap, but rather a broad, abstract statement of what is hoped to be achieved. For example, a vision for a non-profit organization might be: "To create a world where everyone has access to quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential." This vision provides a clear direction for the organization's work and inspires people to work towards it.
